Five Services, One Method Underneath Them
Casselberry Roof Cleaning offers five services built around how roofs actually get dirty in this city: soft washing for shingle and tile, black-streak algae removal, moss removal for shaded, tree-covered lots, and gutter brightening. Every method is chosen for what Casselberry's mostly older, mixed shingle-and-tile housing stock can safely handle.
Roof Soft Washing
Soft washing applies a low-concentration biocide (algaecide) treatment to the roof surface, kills algae, moss and lichen at the root, then rinses at ordinary garden-hose pressure — nothing above roughly 100–150 PSI ever touches the shingle or tile itself. It's the base method behind every other service on this page, and it's the method most roofing-education sites recommend over pressure washing for exactly the reason a pressure washer strips granules: soft washing doesn't rely on force to do the work, the chemistry does.

Tile Roof Cleaning
Concrete and clay tile can take more direct treatment than shingle, but it isn't pressure-wash-proof either: aggressive pressure can crack tiles, drive water underneath them, or strip a protective glaze coating. We control foot traffic (tile cracks under the wrong footstep long before a chemical treatment would ever damage it), use glaze-safe chemistry, and rinse at low pressure. Tile is common on some of {C['city']}'s newer builds, including townhome communities built well after the city's 1950s–80s boom.

Shingle Roof Cleaning
Asphalt shingles carry the black-streak algae (Gloeocapsa magma) that most people mean when they say a roof 'needs cleaning.' The risk on shingle is granule loss: once the protective granules that shield a shingle from UV light are stripped away, they don't grow back, and the roof ages faster from that point forward. That risk goes up on an older roof already on its second or third re-roof cycle — common in {C['city']} neighborhoods like Carriage Hill and Lake Kathryn Park — which is exactly why we soft wash instead of pressure wash shingle.

Moss Removal
Moss needs shade and moisture to establish, which is why it concentrates on the same tree-covered, lake-adjacent lots where {C['city']}'s mature laurel oak and live oak canopy already keeps roofs damp longer after rain. Removal targets the rhizoids (root-like structures) that anchor moss into the shingle or tile surface, not just the visible green growth on top — scraping the surface growth alone leaves the roots to regrow within a season.

Gutter Brightening
A roof soft wash rinses algae, moss and dirt down the roof slope and into the gutters, and it's worth cleaning the gutter faces at the same time rather than leaving new streaking behind on newly-cleaned fascia. Gutter brightening here means the exterior cosmetic cleaning — oxidation streaks and staining on the gutter face — not full interior debris removal, which we can quote separately if your gutters need it.
